FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dear Voters of House District 50,

You may have received a mail piece today which is intended to misrepresent candidate Betsy Kramer’s status as being Certified Pro-Life by Georgia Life Alliance. Please allow us to be clear: Betsy Kramer is not currently Certified Pro-Life by Georgia Life Alliance Committee.

Ms. Kramer submitted her Candidate Questionnaire to GLA Committee on June 6th, at which time we informed her that we would need to conduct an interview with her due to public statements she made in the media about being pro-choice.

That interview was conducted on June 8th, upon the conclusion of which we communicated clearly that a final decision regarding her certification would not be made until the week of June 13th.

The mail piece in question, which began arriving in mailboxes on June 10th, is intended to indicate that her application status with GLA is approved when that is simply not true. Additionally, this mailer being received on June 10th would have to mean that her campaign designed and sent the mail piece before the interview ever took place.

This kind of campaign tactic is dishonest.

Georgia Life Alliance Committee’s Pro-Life Certification is the most trusted pro-life certification in politics, and the integrity of this process must be protected even when candidates feel desperate about their standing in the pro-life community.

For a complete listing of candidates who are Certified Pro-Life for the June 21 Runoff Elections, please visit georgialifealliance.com/2022-gla-committee-pro-life-certification-questionnaire-responses.

With Roe v. Wade’s apparent demise imminent and Georgia’s Heartbeat Bill weeks from going into effect, it has never been more important to pass policy that builds up a state prepared for a post-Roe culture. We are so proud to announce that Governor Kemp has signed GLA’s flagship legislation, Betsy’s Law , which allows nonprofits to provide free maternity supportive housing to homeless pregnant women and their minor children. Betsy’s Law, named after the child our Leadership Director, Elizabeth Reed , courageously placed for adoption when she was homeless and pregnant at age 15, will save lives immediately and provide the hope that thousands of women will need with abortion access gone in Georgia. Thank you so much to Elizabeth for sharing her story and writing this bill , to Senator Randy Robertson and Representative Sharon Cooper for leading the fight to shepherd this bill across the finish line, and to Governor Brian Kemp for making good on his promise that the Heartbeat Bill was only the beginning. Together for Life, Martha Zoller Executive Director
