2019 is bringing new leadership around Georgia. As GLA-certified elected officials begin taking the helm in state government, Georgia Life Alliance will also be starting this next chapter in our state with a new leadership team, effective November 26 th .

board-profile_pic Emily Matson, former Executive Director and current General Counsel, will continue providing her invaluable tenure of leadership at GLA as Chairman of the Board.

“I am so honored to continue serving this incredible organization,” Said Matson. “And I know that we have a great team put together to bring the pro-life movement to new heights in 2019 by building on the foundation that was laid during my time as Executive Director.”

That new team also includes brand-new Executive Director, Joshua Edmonds.

A former staffer for Senator Renee Unterman, he spent 2018 consulting to help elect pro-life candidates around the nation like Mike Braun in Indiana and Geoff Duncan in Georgia. He has spent the last 9 years as a pro-life leader, including as the former Director of Education & Legislation at Georgia Right to Life.

“It’s beyond humbling to take on this new role at GLA. I’m standing on the shoulders of giants here,” Edmonds exclaimed. “I’ve already been speaking with pro-life leaders around the state and everyone is excited about the vision we have for 2019.”

“The Board has the utmost confidence in Joshua, and his experience in nonprofits, state agency, the legislature, elections, and lobbying for the pro-life community make him the perfect fit for GLA,” said Board Chairman Emily Matson.

Mary Boyert Another veteran joining the GLA leadership team is former Respect For Life Ministries Director, Mary Boyert. After a legacy of service at the Atlanta Catholic Archdiocese, Mary will bring her invaluable knowledge and experience to GLA as Director of Operations.

“I have served in the pro-life community for a very long time, and I’ve never been as encouraged as I am today by the leadership of this movement and the direction we are headed,” Boyert said. “This is a unique moment in history.”

Rounding out the leadership team is Jay Williams, Founder of The Stoneridge Group, who will serve as a Senior Advisor to the Board.

“We have the perfect team in place,” Edmonds said. “2019 is going to be the biggest year yet for the pro-life movement.”
