PERDUE VICTORY SHOWS POWER OF PRO-LIFE VOTE

National Right to Life Get-Out-The-Vote Campaign Helps Georgia Victory

WASHINGTON – With strong support from the National Right to Life Political Action Committee and the National Right to Life Victory Fund, the right-to-life movement retained a pro-life seat as pro-life David Perdue defeated Michelle Nunn in Georgia tonight in the race to fill the seat vacated by retiring pro-life Sen. Saxby Chambliss. National Right to Life, together with its affiliate, Georgia Life Alliance, reached out to voters across the state to lay out the right-to-life case against Michelle Nunn.

National Right to Life contacted more than 280,000 identified pro-life households in Georgia.
An additional 220,000 pieces of literature were hand-distributed by National Right to Life and Georgia Life Alliance local grassroots volunteers. In addition, nearly 100,000 pro-life households were called reminding them of the key differences between Perdue and Nunn. National Right to Life’s political committees also aired 4,105 radio ads on 170 stations statewide, including a significant ad buy on Spanish-language radio stations.

“National Right to Life looks forward to working with Senator-elect Perdue to advance the right-to-life cause in the U.S. Senate,” said Carol Tobias, National Right to Life president.  “We know that when pro-life voters are engaged in the political process, pro-life candidates enjoy a significant advantage over their pro-abortion opponents. That held true in Georgia tonight.”

About National Right to Life
Founded in 1968, the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the federation of 50 state right-to-life affiliates and more than 3,000 local chapters, is the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization. Recognized as the flagship of the pro-life movement, NRLC works through legislation and education to protect innocent human life from abortion, infanticide, assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Involved in every election since Ronald Reagan’s election to the presidency, National Right to Life Political Action Committee was formed in 1979 as the political arm of National Right to Life. The National Right to Life Victory Fund, an independent expenditure political action committee founded in 2012, is dedicated to electing pro-life leaders to the White House and Congress.
